Performance activewear engineering

Build a range around movement, coverage and repeat wear

Leggings, sports bras, shorts, jackets and coordinated sets need different fabric modulus, seam placement and fit testing. Review the activity, support level and target size curve before approving a style.

Performance stretch fabrics

Compare nylon/spandex, polyester blends, brushed knits and cotton-rich fabrics for stretch, recovery, opacity, hand-feel and care. Fibre percentages and fabric weight are confirmed per style.

Support and coverage

Sports bra cup, band and strap geometry must match the intended impact level. Leggings require squat and movement testing for opacity, seam strength and waistband stability.

Seams, pockets and trims

Flatlock, overlock, bonded and clean-edge routes can be reviewed with pocket bags, zips, drawcords, elastic and reflective trims. Placement is confirmed on fit samples.

Fit and size grading

Review rise, inseam, leg opening, cup coverage and body length across the requested size set, including petite, plus-size and maternity directions where applicable.

Test evidenceApprove fabric swatches, measurement sheets, stretch-recovery records, movement tests and colour lab dips before bulk production.

What buyers should confirm before ordering samples

The category covers yoga leggings, flare pants, joggers, sports bras, tops, shorts, tennis skirts, zip jackets, jumpsuits and coordinated sets. Compare activity, support level, fabric weight, coverage, pocket layout and size grading before sampling.

For private-label programs, provide the target market, size curve, colour standard, logo method, packaging and any quick-dry, thermal, compression or support requirement. Custom sampling is typically reviewed in 7–10 days after the material and specification are confirmed.

Fabric and recovery

Test stretch, recovery, opacity and pilling against the selected knit and intended activity. Review squat, bend, run and wash tests where relevant.

Fit and support

Confirm sports-bra band and cup support, leggings rise and inseam, waistband tension and leg-opening comfort across the full grade.

Construction and branding

Review flatlock or bonded seams, pocket placement, zip and drawcord quality, reflective trims, labels and private-label logo application.

Which women's activewear styles can you develop?

The range can include leggings, flare and jogger pants, yoga shorts, sports bras, tanks, long- and short-sleeve tops, tennis skirts, zip jackets, hoodies, jumpsuits and coordinated activewear sets.

Can you customize fabric, colours, logos and packaging?

Fabric direction, colour matching, logo application, woven or heat-transfer labels, care labels, hangtags, polybags, retail boxes and marketplace packing can be reviewed for the selected style.

What size range is available?

Current source references cover XS–6XL across different styles, including plus-size and maternity directions. Final grade rules and measurements must be confirmed on the approved pattern and fit sample.

How do you validate activewear performance?

We review fabric stretch and recovery, opacity, seam strength, waistband stability, sports-bra support and wash care against the intended activity. Quick-dry, thermal or compression wording is confirmed with the selected fabric and current test method.
