Construction
How Period Swimwear Is Built
Period swimwear needs a swim-grade outer fabric, a thin absorbent gusset that does not hold excess water, and a barrier that stays stable in pool and sea water. We review fabric recovery, drying time and chlorine and salt-water resistance on samples.
Swim-Grade Outer Fabric
Polyamide/elastane or polyester/elastane swim fabrics are reviewed for stretch recovery, opacity, colourfastness and drying behaviour.
Absorbent Gusset
The absorbent gusset is kept thin for comfort and drying. Layer weight and coverage are confirmed for the intended Light to Medium use.

The leak-resistant barrier is reviewed for flexibility, edge comfort and stability after contact with pool and sea water.
